Teeth that are straight and properly aligned are not only more attractive, but they are also easier to clean and maintain. However, some patients balk at the idea of wearing metal braces, though this orthodontic solution is still the right choice for many individuals. As an alternative to wearing traditional bracket and wire braces, our team at Made Ya Smile Dental is proud to offer Invisalign clear aligners for teeth straightening. Custom made to gradually guide teeth into their proper places, Invisalign aligners are practically invisible and let you straighten your teeth without being obvious. If you or your teen want a straighter, healthier smile but wish to avoid the challenges and look of metal, Invisalign may be an excellent option.
Thanks to advancements in orthodontic technology, achieving a straighter, more attractive and confident smile is easier than ever. Our dentists at Made Ya Smile Dental in Sugar Land, TX are Preferred Invisalign Providers, meaning that they have completed advanced training and education in this type of orthodontic approach. Invisalign Teen is an orthodontic system designed to meet the specific needs of teenage patients. With this option, younger patients who may be embarrassed to wear metal braces can still get the orthodontic care needed for a healthy and beautiful smile. Metal brackets and wires may also interfere with the ability to play musical instruments and increase the risk of soft tissue injury during sports. Invisalign clear aligners are removable but do contain blue indicator dots on each mouth tray that will fade when aligners are worn properly. This compliance feature can help parents and our team to know if the aligners are being worn as needed to correct orthodontic issues and can help keep your teen on track to enjoy the targeted smile outcome.

Treatment with Invisalign may be a great choice for you or your teen if you would like to straighten your smile but wish to avoid the look and feel of metal braces. Clear aligners from Invisalign are created using advanced digital technology for a customized approach to correcting common orthodontic problems. Nearly invisible and made of smooth plastic, these aligner trays are worn for 20 – 22 hours each day and are easily removed to brush and floss the teeth and before eating. Adults and teens appreciate that Invisalign is discreet and are often able to straighten their teeth without their friends and loved ones even realizing. In some cases, traditional braces are the most appropriate choice. However, Invisalign can address several types of orthodontic concerns, including:
- Overcrowding of teeth
- Crooked or rotated teeth
- Gapped teeth
- Protruding teeth
- Overbite and underbite
Patients may have orthodontic problems that arise from genetics or developmental issues, thumb-sucking as a child, tooth loss, and oral injuries. Treating bite misalignments and other concerns as early as possible can help to avoid other dental problems, like gum recession, chipped or worn teeth, and TMJ disorders. A misaligned bite can also affect the ability to eat comfortably and speak properly. If any of these issues are affecting your teeth and jaw, Invisalign may be a great solution to straightening your teeth, correcting your bite (how the lower and upper teeth fit together), and creating an attractive and confident smile.
What To Expect
A comprehensive orthodontic consultation with our Preferred Invisalign Providers can help you or your teen learn if this treatment is the best approach for your needs. Detailed 3D images of your teeth, jawbone, and facial structures will be taken so that we can evaluate your orthodontic health. Our team will use an intra-oral scanner to map out the details of your teeth and input this information into our advanced software program to effectively plan your Invisalign treatment. The Invisalign teeth straightening system works through a series of clear aligners that apply gentle pressure to your teeth to move them into ideal locations. Once our special lab creates your Invisalign trays, we will have you visit our office so that you can try your clear aligners and we can give you instructions on proper use.
Each set of trays is worn for two weeks and then changed out for the next set in your series. The sets of trays are numbered so that you can easily identify which to wear next. Visits to our office will be scheduled for you at 4 – 6 intervals so that our dentists can evaluate your alignment progress and adjust your treatment as necessary. In many cases, treatment with Invisalign and Invisalign Teen lasts about a year but may vary due to individual patient needs.
When your treatment with Invisalign is complete and your teeth have reached their final destination, a retainer will be made for you to wear. Retainers are an important part of your orthodontic care and are necessary to help keep your teeth in place while the rest of your jaw stabilizes. Invisalign Vivera® retainers are made from the same clear, comfortable materials as your aligner mouth trays. Our dentists will let you know for how long you need to wear your retainers, but you can expect to wear them at all times during the initial few months after your Invisalign process is complete. To maintain the results of your orthodontic care and prevent your teeth from migrating back to their misaligned positions, it is critical that you wear your retainers exactly as recommended by our team. We request that you bring your retainer to each of your biannual cleaning and exam visits so that we can evaluate the fit and continue to assess your bite.
If you have dental insurance, your plan may offer some coverage toward Invisalign orthodontic treatment. We will contact your provider and review your benefits before getting started with your aligners. Made Ya Smile Dental in Sugar Land, TX strives to offer affordable and convenient solutions so that all patients may enjoy a healthy smile. We are pleased to accept an array of flexible payment options and can provide information on no- or low-cost treatment financing with CareCredit® plans.
